JavaServer Faces Programming by Budi Kurniawan, Your one-stop resource for JavaServer Faces programming Stretch JavaServer Faces to the limit and create professional JSF programs with this guide to the ultimate framework available for rapidly building Java Web applications. After a brief overview of the underlying and related technologies, you'll learn to write and deploy a JSF application, then follow comprehensive tutorials on how to use standard GUI components, input validation, and converters, as well as on how to control page navigation, manage JavaBeans, and write event listeners. Advanced coverage includes writing custom GUI components, extending input validators, providing support for internationalization, and developing a real-world online-store application.Review servlets, JSP technologies, JavaBeans, custom tag libraries, and the Model 2 architecture Understand the component tree, event-driven programming, input validation, and page navigation Write model objects and incorporate GUI components into JSP pages Manage page navigation and JavaBeans Use standard validators and converters, or write your own custom ones Support internationalization and localization Edit the elements within Application Configuration files Write shorter JSP pages and eliminate the use of scripts Build a real-world online store application Understand the technical details on how JSF works ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Budi Kurniawan is an IT consultant specializing in Internet and object-oriented programming and has taught both Java and Microsoft technologies. He has written several computer programming books, including "How Tomcat Works and "Java Web Development with Servlets, JSP, and EJB, Second Edition. From Whirlwind to Mitre: The R&d Story of the Sage Air Defense Computer by Kent C. Redmond, This book presents an organizational and social history of one of the foundational projects of the computer era: the development of the SAGE (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) air defense system, from its first test at Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1951, to the installation of the first unit of the New York Air Defense Sector of the SAGE system, in 1958. The idea for SAGE grew out of Project Whirlwind, a wartime computer development effort, when the U.S. Department of Defense realized that the Whirlwind computer might anchor a continent-wide advance warning system. Developed by MIT engineers and scientists for the U.S. Air Force, SAGE monitored North American skies for possible attack by manned aircraft and missiles for twenty-five years.Aside from its strategic importance, SAGE set the foundation for mass data-processing systems and foreshadowed many computer developments of the 1960s. The heart of the system, the AN/FSQ-7, was the first computer to have an internal memory composed of "magnetic cores," thousands of tiny ferrite rings that served as reversible electromagnets. SAGE also introduced computer-driven displays, online terminals, time sharing, high-reliability computation, digital signal processing, digital transmission over telephone lines, digital track-while-scan, digital simulation, computer networking, and duplex computing. The book shows how the wartime alliance of engineers, scientists, and the military exemplified by MIT's Radiation Lab helped to transform research and development practice in the United States through the end of the Cold War period.
Internal consistency - Internal consistency, in gaming, refers to the consistency of the physical and social rules that affect online computer role-playing games. One example of internal consistency might be that if you can fall from a 1,000 foot cliff in one area and survive, you should be able to fall from a 1,000 foot cliff in any area and survive. General Computer - General Computer (also see General Computer Corporation) was a computer peripheral company whose main product was the HyperDrive, the first internal hard disk for the original Apple Macintosh computer. The product was unusual because the Macintosh did not have any internal interface for hard disks. Joint Functional Component Command for Network Warfare - The Joint Functional Component Command Network Warfare, JFCC-NW, is a the command responsible for coordinating offensive computer network operations for the United States Department of Defense. It is a subordinate command of United States Strategic CommandCommander, Joint Functional Component Command Network Warfare is dual-hatted as Director, National Security Agency]This component facilitates cooperative engagement with other national entities in computer network defense and offensive information warfare as part of the global information operations mission.
